024 Granbazán Albariño Etiqueta Verde – Val do Salnés, Rías Baixas, Spain – 13.2% ABV

Granbazán was one of the pioneering wineries that helped establish Albariño’s international reputation in Rías Baixas. The fruit for Etiqueta Verde is sourced from more than 100 micro-parcels across the villages of Cambados, Vilanova de Arousa, and Meaño in the Val do Salnés subzone, the coolest and most maritime part of the appellation. Vines are planted on decomposed granite soils near the Atlantic coast, where persistent ocean influence preserves acidity and contributes the variety’s hallmark saline character. After a short cold maceration of 6–8 hours, the wine is fermented in stainless steel and aged on its fine lees for 4–5 months without bâtonnage, building texture while maintaining precision. The 2024 vintage offers green apple, lime zest, white flowers, and peach alongside a distinctive mineral and sea-spray finish that has become a signature of both the producer and the region.
