2022 Domaine Michel Bourgogne Mâcon-Villages – Mâconnais, Burgundy, France – 13% ABV
Sourced from vineyards in the southern Mâconnais, this Chardonnay is grown on limestone and clay soils that lend both freshness and subtle structure. The region’s warmer climate compared to the Côte d’Or allows for riper fruit expression while retaining acidity. Fermented primarily in stainless steel with limited lees aging, the wine emphasizes purity and balance over oak influence. Notes of green apple, lemon zest, and white peach are supported by a light mineral edge and clean finish. A precise, terroir-driven example of everyday white Burgundy.
