category: You Thought I Was Pinot Noir, Fool!

from: Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy

grapes: schiava
-This Pinot Noir is so unique, I’ve never tasted anything like it before!

-I know, right?  I heard this vineyard in Northern Italy uses a special technique to grow their Pinot grapes.

-Really?  What’s the technique?

-I think they call it ‘Schiava’ or ‘Vernatsch’  It’s actually written on the label.

-Oh, I think you’re right. Schiava must be what they call Pinot Noir in Trentino, Italy.

-Either that or it’s a different grape entirely!

-They can call it whatever they want as long as it’s light, fresh, and delicious.

-Exactly. Whatever the hell it is, I’m sure glad it exists.
