This resolution has everything to do with embracing a more natural approach to living life (in this concert jungle we call home). The Perrini family took this to heart 30 years ago when they converted their vineyards to organic viticulture long before many in the area had even considered it. Their vines are anywhere from 30 to 35 years old and are picked by hand in small baskets to help preserve the integrity of every last grape. Primitivo is grown primarily in the warm, southern part of Italy in Puglia (the stiletto heel of the boot when looking at a map of Italy.) In the early 19th century, the variety was introduced to the United States under the name Zinfandel and immediately took off, though the expressions are often on the rich and fruity side.  Perrini’s interpretation is a bit more balanced and food friendly. The best part is how it’s made a name for itself for being accessible without becoming debilitatingly expensive.  So get in touch with your primitive side with PRIMITIVO.
