grapes: pinot noir
It’s February and I’ve been watching rom-coms! Lots of them. My lady loves them and never vetoes the questionable viewing choices I tend to make, so one month out of the year, we indulge in a rom-com-a-thon. Don’t tell anyone, but I think they’re great. Particularly the ‘Meet Cutes’ employed to throw the future love birds together. However, while watching “Notting Hill” starring Hugh Grant (a travel bookshop owner) and Julia Roberts (a famous movie actress!) I couldn’t help but think how absurd their ‘Meet Cute’ was. Personally, if I were an internationally famous celebrity I’d be, at the very least, hesitant to go to the house of a random stranger even if he had just foppishly spilled orange juice on me. “Then what would need to be spilled on you to compel you go to a complete stranger’s house?” you might ask. Hmm. If I were a vulnerable superstar, having Spy Valley’s Pinot Noir splashed all over me would definitely have me high-tailing it to any stranger’s flat with the promise of more! Hidden in the depths of the Southern Valleys, Spy Valley shares the Waihopai with an international satellite communication station that finds the terroir as perfect for spying as it is for Pinot.
