The well meaning but devastatingly bungling paterfamilias, Clark Griswold, wants to have a good, old-fashioned Christmas reminiscent of a Norman Rockwell painting. Clark prepares his house for Christmas with over 20,000 lights and a Xmas tree that would be too big even for a department store. Everything poor Clark does in his paean to Xmas is waaaaaay over the top. And so is this wine from Alpha Box & Dice.  In our experience we’ve never seen a blend like this. Cabs can be over the top. So can Nebbiolo. Aglianico, Mataro and Syrah as well. But to have the audacity to blend these five POWERFUL grapes together is an act of sheer genius bordering the line of insanity. Seriously, it sounds like a joke that starts like this: a Californian, an Italian, and a Frenchman all walk into a bar…Fortunately for all of us, like the climax of “Christmas Vacation”, everything turns out splendidly beautiful.
